From the Palm Beach Post:
"Across the region, temperatures were 20 to 25 degrees below normal for this time of year and the coldest since a historic 1962 freeze, the weather service said in a summary.
The low of 35 recorded at Palm Beach International Airport broke the record of 36 set in 1962. The wind chill at the airport was 31.
Belle Glade (27) and Okeechobee (28) tied 1962 records.
Vero Beach's 29 broke the record of 35 and Clewiston's 29 smashed the record of 36; both also date to 1962."
From ABC Channel 25 in Palm Beach:
"Temperatures dropped again overnight Wednesday and more records were broken as a wave of arctic air settled over South Florida.
Typically in December, Floridians wake up to temperatures in the 60s. Not so much as of late as the mercury dipped into the 30s, and even 20s in some places.
On Tuesday, Vero Beach broke a record low temperature, hitting 26 degrees. On Wednesday, it wasn't quite as cold, but records were still broken. Vero hit 32 degrees, breaking the previous record of 35 degrees set in 1962."
As a photographer I get a chance to watch the maple trees go through the color progression common to the northeast.
Here are some images taken at Heritage Park (Plantation FL) and Tree Top Parks (Davie FL).
