Just fed up with those ‘Skins

I have tired of the “keystone cop” like antics out of the Redskins so much that I don’t plan to renew my season tickets; been a season ticket holder for about 8 seasons. They’ve found (invented) new ways to lose games. I just don’t see the situation improving for another 2-3 years or longer and I just can’t keep throwing my money at this team. Snyder has made so many bad investments in players and coaches and the cost is ultimately passed to the fans – for a poor team, with no true future direction. He mortgaged the team’s future and the future doesn’t look bright at all. I am still a true fan, but one that will most likely be viewing the games from a different angle - my basement, plus I will have a larger savings account. I have never felt so mad at this team; I’ve always held out hope that things would improve, but I have come to grips that they may not or at least not for quite awhile improve; the organization is dysfunctional and it’s systemic.

OK here’s where this is all leading up too.

If I don’t renew my season tickets, it will free up over $2,200 that can be use to subsidize some equipment purchases, which will provide me more enjoyment than watching such poor performance from this team. I’m getting more into sports photography and need a second body with better ISO performance. So I was thinking…uhmmm cancel season tickets, use that money towards purchasing the 1D4 and making the 1D3 the backup for my sports work – be happier. I just don’t know at this point though – ‘cause my anger could be clouding my judgment.

Just Thinking Out Loud

And that doesn't include all the money you'll save on parking, tailgating, buying beer at stadium prices, burgundy & gold body paint, ... :D

Damn, I thought you were going to say they were taking some money back from Fat Al Haynesworth and giving it to you to buy a camera.

Shanahan will make things better, but it will never be good as long as Snyder owns the team. Buy the camera; if they improve, you can buy a couple of single game tickets and still come out way ahead.

Do they still wear the hog noses?

Y'know, I'm not sure your overall picture there is any worse than ours with the 49ers.

Mediocre players, bad coach, terrible owners.

Careful what you say. If the missus finds out, and she will, you'll be down to about $350! :D

So far that is the plan. I can always buy tickets on game day.

Yeah, the Hogettes. I have not seen others with them on or rather I have not paid much attention to it because I've been so cussin' mad at the games. But I do see those cheerleaders though...every game - Nikon binocs...woohoo:D

Hey misery loves company;) What do you think they will do with Singletary?

How can 2 storied franchise fall from grace so hard?

She already knows. I pay for the tickets out of my funds though. My rule is Ours (joint account), hers (her personal account) and mine (my own account). She can do whatever she wants with hers and visa versa.:D All are happy. But with that said a woman is a woman and she will try and get something out if though;) She's probably cookin' a scheme as I speak.

Hehe. I can feel ya. January 2nd is my last 49ers game on my own season seats. I've had the seats for a dozen years or so and I'm now giving them up both because the team can't seem to win and because I can't affort to pay for pain.

I doubt I'll talk the wife into letting me buy camera gear with the "savings" but that's why I have a "hobby fund" with other sources of income. :D

Frankly, I don't care any more. Grrrr. I figure they'll keep Singletary until the end of the season and then he's gone. Fine with me.

But the real problem is the ownership - after Eddie DeBartolo was forced to sell out to his sister it got steadily worse, year after year.

I used to be a 49er Faithful, from the days at Kezar Stadium with John Brodie. Even during the bad years after he retired.

And then along came Saint Joe of Montana and everything was amazing. I imagine you remember...
