The Astronomic CLS as MintMark demonstrated is an awsome filter. It has made my Petzval Achromat function the way I expected. Here is an example of the detail the filter is able to draw out. It is as if I had a new scope.

Thanks

I have been able to get 4 minute subs out of mine from time to time, but I just mounted my ED80 on it and it's back to doing it's buggy stuff again. I'll get the bugs out hopefully about the time that filter arrives at my door Astro-Tech 8" f/4 imaging Newtonian,Baader MPCC,Orion ED 80 APO F7.5,Skywatcher EQ-6 Pro,ASGT, Modified Canon 50D, Meade DSI Guide Camera, 8" SCT dovetail mounted relic, Criterion Dynascope RV-6, modified 300D, custom astro shed, and still just getting started!

Yuh, I like the GG5. It has it's qirks but is a solid performer. It's a keeper for me. From what I read around the net 4-5 min subs are the norm unguided. Ours seem to be in agreement. So far I think that is right where a mount needs to be. Between the light pollution, detail (current results) weather and time available to shoot. I don't see where I would get more than 5min exposures before the sub degrades anyway. Don't have the luxury of dark sky where I could go much beyond that. I am set up to guide and the guiding works. Just don't need it yet. I have found that the initial polar alingment is everything with this mount. If you have that down, the mount is 3/4 ready to go. I have the polar alingment scope in mine and follow the polar alingment routine from here: http://www.astro-baby.com/HEQ5/HEQ5-1.htm Canon 1000D Kit lens 18-55 and EF 75-300. Look Up!
