The Astronomic CLS as MintMark demonstrated is an awsome filter. It has made my Petzval Achromat function the way I expected. Here is an example of the detail the filter is able to draw out. It is as if I had a new scope.

nicely done, seems you're getting the bugs out of guiding with the ASGT5. Lots of dusty bits

Very Nice! So you had a buggy ASGT just like me? I have been able to get 4 minute subs out of mine from time to time, but I just mounted my ED80 on it and it's back to doing it's buggy stuff again. I'll get the bugs out hopefully about the time that filter arrives at my door:)

Yuh, I like the GG5. It has it's qirks but is a solid performer. It's a keeper for me. From what I read around the net 4-5 min subs are the norm unguided. Ours seem to be in agreement. So far I think that is right where a mount needs to be. Between the light pollution, detail (current results) weather and time available to shoot. I don't see where I would get more than 5min exposures before the sub degrades anyway. Don't have the luxury of dark sky where I could go much beyond that. I am set up to guide and the guiding works. Just don't need it yet. I have found that the initial polar alingment is everything with this mount. If you have that down, the mount is 3/4 ready to go. I have the polar alingment scope in mine and follow the polar alingment routine from here: http://www.astro-baby.com/HEQ5/HEQ5-1.htm (external link) , to set up my alignment. That lil procedure has solved 90% of my problems with the mount.
