Hi all

Is there a way of processing RAW files from an EOS 500d on Photoshop CS2? The last update Adobe produced for that version is Camera Raw 3.7 but the 500d is not supported until version 5+ which is not compatible with CS2.

Is there a way round this or will I have to convert to a DNG file? I also wondered if there is any loss of quality when converting to DNG?

Many thanks

D

V. 5.x or V. 6.x of the DNG Converter is your only hope. Theoretically there should be no loss in quality. Many people routinely convert all their CR2s into DNG.

DPP is the Canon software that came with your camera, specifically Digital Prophoto Professional, which processes Raw files. Install the softwar from the disk and upload the update from the Canon site and you are good to go with a good, quick and easy Raw converter, especially for the newcomers!
