The mare & the neon sunset

Last week the sunset turned neon! I went out into the pasture to take a few shots. Of course, the curious mares followed me everywhere.. one nudging the camera & breathing on my neck, the other (in the shots), was watching me.. then watching the sky. (kind of unusual for a horse to actually stare at the sky).
.. anyway, not the best, but a couple of fun quickies..

NE of Sutter Creek/Jackson

Yes, I imagine you could see it from the valley. We've got a friend who saw if from his ranch in Sloughhouse .. Davis isn't that much farther west.

It was one of those rare - reeeallly NEON - skies. I did NOT PS the sky in these pix. .. it was just amazing. I hope you got some shots of it from your vantage point.

I saw it from the 18th floor of a high rise in downtown Sacramento. Alas, I was at work and did not have my camera with me! We've had a few spectacular skies here lately -- I really should bring the thing more often.

Yes re great skies lately - Sunrises too (spectacular).. since we've had more *weather* than normal this year. .. OK Adam, lesson learned: Keep a camera with you!
