Hey, as the title says, please give me your initial thoughts on this image, I am in the process of editing a bunch of them and would love some direction. The goal is to have an image of the girl doing yoga, for her to use in a local magazine advertising her services.

She wants the image to grab immediate attention.

Cheers!

I like the picture, but the back ground seems a little distracting.

Yes to the clouds, the entire sky. The background was water.
Maybe a little less of a distracting sky? That is the only one I had....

Here is the original, any suggestions to make it pop?

Cheers

I prefer it with the water. Have you tried this in black and white?

Darn you brown burger! ha! I prefer the clouds, but I may need to insert a less distracting skyline!

I just did a quick play in Lightroom but won't post because you don't have editing turned on. However, what I did was boost contrast, boost blacks and crop so the plane of her body is about on the top third line and her back foot is fairly close to the left side of the page.

Thanks I like it, the crop especially, but it is a little too dark for me...but I will think about it! Thanks so much for taking the time to help!

I like the crop, too, and agree that it's a little dark. Some selective darkening would probably have worked better. Do you have a plain blue sky you could use instead of the clouds?

If you want to grab attention, you should use a photo of a more interesting yoga position, like legs behind her head or something. I would add a little more contrast to the photo, too.
