If you have a valid copy of Windows XP, you can get Photo Story 3 for free. A link is available from the web site in my sig. There are also tutorials there if you need help getting started.

LOL the problem i have with PS3 is.... you need to have unliscensed music for it. I ripped a song for one of my slide showes off a CD and i couldnt use it because it was liscensed, so i had to go download the same song of limewire and use that copy...lol damned if ya do and damned if ya dont!

Yes, digital rights can be a problem. PS3 does include a custom music generator that insures copyright-free music, but I hear ya.

Thesee are all fine (but I feel are pretty limited) software programs. Only one mention above of Photodex's ProShow Gold amazes me. It's fantastic. It's not free but you can download a free trial. It really is excellent although (PC Only). You can create very pro looking DVDs.

I have the better Proshow Producer which is utterly outsatnding. . Bloody expensive though!

Look at www.photodex.com (external link) and browse some of the shows.

You can create DVD/VCD/SVCD/EXE (will run at top quality on any PC and look great)/screensavers/mpg files and one or two others I think. A great range of output.

And folks with a Mac or Linux?

Macs have iPhoto and iDVD with easy-to-create slide show options.

NO re-read my message. Setting up slideshow.bat and things like that are fine for Windows users but not people running Mac or Linux. It is a bad practice IMO.

I am "pretty" familiar with Mac offerings  I run the iMovie FAQ http://imovie.danslagle.com (external link)
