Taking opinions on print tone, contrast, composition, etc. Mother nature bats last so I can't part the waves and such just yet and shooting primes is a world all to its own. The Leica lenses are delivering nice rich colorful files. CC welcome and appreciated.

I kind of like the "stepping stone" effect that's created by the different "layers" in the image...pulls my eyes into the frame. My only nit would be the the beach plants in the lower left, which seem to be lost in shadow (and maybe clone out the lone gull at water's edge in the foreground). Overall, the image looks relaxing and tranquil, but I bet that it would jump to life with fall foliage colors.

Thanks for the feedback. I will have to adjust the contrast in layers and yes the shrubs are lost to shadows. The gull and 3 puffins (in motion) are going to stay as they provide a nice reference for the scenic and nature on the bay. The color and print tone were a major concern for me. I just started using Lightroom and CS5 together and trying to get a better handle on controlling white balance and print tone. I live in an area that has more evergreen than deciduous so we don't get New England fall color. Some trees turn color but the hills are predominantly evergreen.

Changed print to show better shadow detail in shrubs and lower print contrast. Thanks argyle.

Hey, the edit looks pretty good (and now I see the puffins) :D
