Well, we took the 5-year old Granddaughter to Macy's (ex-John Wanamaker's) yesterday to see the Dickens Village and Santa. It wasn't the greatest day for sightseeing outside, as the temps were barely in the mid 30s, and I had to keep an eye on the Kid most of the time, as she tended to want to step right off the curb onto Market Street without looking... After Macy's, we headed down Broad Street for a spell. Unfortunately, the time of day and sidewalk traffic was not conducive to getting really good shots, but here's one of the Union League building.
This is the oldest U/L still around, and home to Philly's upper crust since the Civil War. If you were a rich, white, Republican male, this is where you back-slapped and glad-handed. I think they now allow women and non-Caucasians to join as well, with the right connections.
