My first encounter with a raptor....

......and I was on the way down this country road, ready to shoot pics of a car. Not quite prepared obviously.....:lol:. I was pulling the car into position on the road, and happened to catch this mass fly into the trees near me. I looked up and saw what looked like a RTH, but wanted to confirm here. He/she is a big one......but still didn't like my presence too much.

I scuffled to get the camera out of the trunk, and flipped it into Av mode and started snapping before it got away. Pics aren't that great, but it was a cool first experience.....

Good shots.....Hawks and me don't get along yet....lol....This one probably would have bolted as soon as i reached for the camera.....Staying in the vehicle also......

He would have laughed for sure at me if i attempted to go to back of vehicle to get camera.....lol.......

Good for you.....fun stuff for sure......

This type of Hawk is what got me started in wildlife photography...be careful or you will be selling the ATV. :p
