Did you ever hear Encyclopedia Britannica salesperson? Used to sale for $5000; and some of POTN members might still have the last collection at home.

Also, some books in Vatican Museum's Map room are well over 2-3k Euro, which I LOVE to own them.

His other books sell for $45-200. This one is autographed, so apparently he feels that increases the value 10-50 times.

Ouch! When I think of all the other books you could buy with 2k versus just one. You could easily gather examples of work from several of the best photographers to date.

I wonder what market it is aimed at... I know some prints go for big money but if you can't afford a print buying a book is like buying a badge to say "Yep, I couldn't get a print". A bit like buying a Ferrari hat instead of an Enzo.

I'd get a 3D LED TV with that dough first.

Actually, I am saving up almost that much to buy a book, the owner's manual for an 85mm f/1.2L lens. They give you a free lens to test your knowledge of the manual.

Well there sure is alot of hype about him and his work, so I'm sure there's a market for his book at $2000. For some reason is prints are selling for a tidy sum. As a collector of BW images and photo books it wouldn't bother me to spend $2000 for a book but it wouldn't have Peter Lik's name on it.
