Actually, I am saving up almost that much to buy a book, the owner's manual for an 85mm f/1.2L lens. They give you a free lens to test your knowledge of the manual.

:lol::lol::lol:

580 pages humm
1/3 the amount of 12 x 18 print's @ $25 a pop would be over $4,800°°

Who knows what the publisher was thinking, could be they have a few sheep in mind already!

Where the hell are you buying your prints??

Exactly... 12 x 18 prints, $2.99 from Costco...

Oh, and by the way, I wouldn't spend $2K on a book, unless it came with a 1D Mk III...

Wasn't about my cost to print, as the book was a for sale item.

And no that's not what I sell a print that size for, it was a thought of averages snatched out of thin air.

Take what you sell a 12 x 18 for and figure out what the book would be if you sold it.

Now just for grins, 580 pages @ $3.00 a pop is what? $1,740°° cover price and binding.
Yes I know it's double sided,

It was a switch of direction, some didn't get.
Many threads of what someone would and would not sell for.
A futile attempt on my part, it would seem, at a guess of how they arrived at so much for a 40 pound book.

He is a damn good photographer.
If I had the money to drop, I would buy it and save it.
One day you may be able to resell it. (Like the Alice in Wonderland illustrations from Dali.)

Come on - it's less than $50.00 per pound so you know you are making a good investment! Heck, someday it may go for as much as $51.95 a pound if you hold onto it! That's a $78.00 profit!

Depends on the class I guess, my book fees are just under the price of a new 1D mk IV.

I'll cover that call option if you are willing to take it. I mean I get a premium either way, plus I'll probably be able to keep the book!

These same photographers will have trouble moving up from $100 for a portrait session plus CD of all the pics. Can't convince others that your own photography is worth more if you don't think others' is worth a damn either.

I wouldn't buy the book simply because I'm not into books. :D
