You wouldn't accept a free Peter Lik? I would...

Personally there's way to much hype with his work. For the money I would be purchasing other works that I know will last much longer and inhance my collection.

On a more serious note than my last post I would consider paying maybe $300 for the book

Well if he can back up his words with his photos...then I don't feel he has a big ego. I've been to his Vegas gallery and was very impressed. I feel his photography backs up his words, no ego here.

He has 14 galleries around this globe. Not bad by any standards...how many do you have?

I won't buy it either as I don't have that type of cash for someone elses photos. However, if you are into collecting and viewing landscapes that are works of art, you won't go wrong with getting the book. Over 500 of Peter's best photos for less than $5 per photo is a deal.

Its not about how many galleries he has, its about the price of the book. I would hope after shooting for 25 years and a $100,000 camera would produce some good images yeah. but $2,000? You have to be kidding me. I could buy everyone of Art Wolfe's books for less then that 10 times over!

I guess it just bugs me people hold him up so high, as some kind of photography god or something when theres thousands more who produce the same quality of work if not better who are either known to some degree or not known at all. Kinda like all that great inspiring music thats out there only the bands arent signed to record deals.

Yep, but if you are a Peter Lik fan...there are many out there, then this is a steal. Over 500 of his photos for $2000...that's $4 per photo. Now tell me where you can get this for less.

Not at all, more power to him. Hes just not the photography god everyone seems to make him out to be imho. A good business man yes, but I've shot and worked with some of the best out there and they havent nor would they charge $2,000 for a book of their photos.

And to be honest I think it's pretty stupid charging that much, most likely 99% of his fans are hobbyist photographers who couldnt afford that book anyway. They'd be better off concentrating on their own work and buying a new lense or camera body for $2,000

FTR too, I've seen his prints in person in keywest, they are amazing. Best I've seen. Hes sold over $200 million worth of them so hes doing something right. dont get me wrong, i'm not by any means trying to slam the guy, I just think $2,000 for a book is a little too much.
