Heading home from one of my favorite shooting haunts, I ran accross four hot air balloons out doing some touch & go's at a local park. Couldn't resist the opportunity to get up close and work some different angles as they yo-yo'd up and down:

It's a very nice series on them, Jay! It's too bad that you were too late to get a ride!

Nice balloon pics. My all time fav quote from F Troop, I'll always remember that scene. Thanks for sharing and bringing me a smile.

Thanks All...

This was at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler, AZ for those that were wondering. They launched from the northeast corner of the park in very, very light ENEasterly winds. They made four bounces before they even cleared the western boundary of the park and then tapped the Earth twice more in the fields just to the west.

It took me 20 minutes to walk back to my truck from where I left them and another 10 to get back to the nearest freeway and I'd bet they hadn't progressed much more than another 1/4 mile in that time. Really light winds...

It was fun handing business cards to the pilots as they floated past at head height! :D

Beautiful shots!
With that said, Hot air Balloons scare the bajesus out of me! I have seen too many fall out of the sky in flames or hit power lines.
