Went down to my parents to get a few shots of my dad's new car today. It was overcast....which is fine by me for car shots. I'll probably get some more on the next day when its clear out. I know these are a tad dark, but the first two at least seemed to be keepers.

Most shots are with the 1Dmkiii and either the 100-400L or 50mm f1.8. The shot at the bottom is with the Bowen 8mm fishy.

The road has a weird camber to it which is making the wheels/suspension do weird things. I would pick a slightly different spot. First shot has poles growing out and second is cropped a bit too tightly. For the full car shots, your DOF is too shallow. You should stop down a few stops to get the whole car in focus and sharper. Shots 6 and 7 I would move slightly to the left or right so you can see all 4 wheels. Right now you are hiding a wheel and it looks odd. Overall it looks pretty good, though. Just things to work on for next time.

The ONLY car from General Motors I would every drive or buy. These things are cooler then the Challenger and Mustang. Love the retro look cars.

I dont like the car itself.
But thats not what this thread is about.
I love the images you took. The last one i think more of the car should be in the picture but i love the concept of it.
Shifter knob picture is my favorite. I love how you did it.

#3 is also a nice one. Kinda looks like something i would do but what i like about yours is how you focused on the rim but blurred the name of the car. Not over blur, but about perfect.

Great work, keep it up.

Another thing
I think overcast is the best time to shoot. Rarely is it ever overcast where i am but when it is, i think its the best time for auto photography. Might just be me though.

The license plate is a bit over the top for me, being very sexually suggestive,
and might be offensive to some. I can't imagine why a father would have such a
license plate on his car, but it's not my car and not my father, so I'll stop questioning
his motivations for such a suggestive connotation.

LOVE the car, big-time.
Not a fan of the fisheye pic, but would love to see what's beyond the gear-shift handle.

All in all, I very much like this series, and I'd like to see more.

Lol you took it a different way. Google it in the car world and you will understand why he has his license plate like that lol.

Different meaning in the car world xD

Its not just you. A lot of people have the misconception that the best time to go out is when its sunny out. Far from the best time....unless you have a location and some equipment to make it work properly. Less than ideal though, being sunny out.

Thanks for the CC, and your opinion on the tag. It is actually in reference to a song by Clarence Carter.

People that get offended by license tags.......I swear, what is this country coming to. :o

I like #6 best, but would like to see it with the parking lights on.

That's probably my 2nd choice. Some light on the horizon helps.

Love the car but white is not my colour....I know, it is taste...
Guess I am the only one who thinks they (the full car ) shots could be improved by a small Levels adjustment - are too gray. This has nothing to do with the overcast day BTW.
I also find the full car shots too closely cropped. There is a strip of badly OOF gray matter in the foreground in #6.
Actually, I like the fish-eye but again there is a cropping issue for me. I would take off some of the bottom.
As a suggestion, you might want to number your images.

none of these shots do it for me. i think you should try to focus on depth of field more. btw, is that fisheye an add on? it seems to disorientate the image quite a lot.
