Car - Flash at Dusk - CC

I tried my hand at flash last night right after the rain stopped and the sun was dipping over the horizon. This isn't something I usually do and to me they feel kind of over-processed. The second one, if I remember correctly, is natural light only.

Anyway, are these over the top?

Had fun with the flash and I can see it's not as easy as point and click. This will take some practice, as with all things.

I really like the second one best. The lighting looks perfect, the clouds are amazing and the black asphalt really makes the image stand out to me. Nice work.

Watch the reflections of the clouds in the second one. First one looks decent to me. Maybe a tad underexposed?

You mean the cloud reflections on the bonnet (hood)?

It was completely dark by the time I took the second one. That was my final location so it got a bit late and it started to rain on me. But point noted. Thanks.

Yep. Generally, reflections such as clouds or trees will take attention away from the car in general. You want pretty clean highlights on the body. Unfortunately, without a lot of cloning, you can't get a cool sky without reflections.

You would need pretty decent sample sizes for cloning right? Doesn't look like there's enough in that photo. For my level of photoshop skill in any case.

I like what you did with #1. Good one!
I might crop about 20% off the top of the frame.
