I remember seeing a method of using the download to install the full version.
There are registry changes involved.
Here are some at your own risk.

This might be it.

You can also try this "old" installation and update from there:

I'm not sure, though, how it would work for Win7 64. The Northlight site has specific instructions for 64 bit Windows if you go through the page.

After you have installed DPP, you can, hopefully, do all the updates from the Canon site -- go to a page for a reasonably recent DSLR and then go to the Software page and then select your OS. There you will then see a scroll-down page with all the Canon apps listed.

I'd just install them all -- you have to do that one at a time. EOS Utilities is certainly valuable, also ZoomBrowser can be nice because it can be used to quickly browse and it also has some of the download features available.

I'd also advise you to be sure you download the User guides for each of these apps -- the one that matches the version of software you have. Canon built-in Help can lack some of the detail the manuals provide.

In all that searching, the main thing I was looking for was remote capture. It was a big pain in the ass last night but I got everything I needed.

Thanks for your help.

Well, good for you! With Canon cameras, EOS Utility is definitely the best for tethered shooting because it keeps upgrading features to match features in newer cameras!

Heh! Around here, things can just disappear in a pile! Fortunately, software disks can stay a bit organized, but you end up with so many of them it's hard to keep track:)! Fortunately I've gotten three Canon DSLRs over the years so it's easy to find at least one!
