The sad thing about this video is that off the top of my head, i can name five or six people who remind me exactly of the "photographer" in the clip

Only 5-6? I could throw a snowball right now randomly and think I'd hit one.

I have a friend who just went out to Bestbuy and bought a t2i with the kit lens. She hangs up a white blanket to her wall and takes photos of kids and babies. I asked her what type of lighting and shooting mode she uses and she says whatever comes out the window and I keep it in AUTO. I also asked if she knew the fundamentals of ISO, Aperture, and Shutter speed to expose pictures and she said she doesn't have time to learn all that stuff and AUTO gives good enough looks anyways. I asked about the post processing and she said "there's this cool thingy called OnOne...something, that I pirated for photoshop that makes all my pictures look better with a push of a button" It took every ounce of energy not to mention any of these funny youtube clips bashing wannabee photographers.

I'm not disagreeing, but I think you need to do more than just take a good photo. The technicals are, for the most part, fairly easy to learn.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

But The Technicals do not always make a good photo, a GOOD photo is about feeling balance, composition, as well as being well lit in focus etc. Its the balance of all these that a customer gets by paying for a true profressional

I'm saying a professional photographer has to be more than his photos.

I really don't agree with that, I am a photographer, my photos appear in the national press or a playbill, I have nothing to do with that, thats what my agency is for, I pay my taxes I have nothing to do with that, thats what an accountant is for, I don't book jobs or man the phones to take orders, thats what a receptionist is for, I take my photos and if they are no good then none of the other people on the team get paid, just as if my receptionist was to miss log bookings, all a team and each person has a responsibility.

No disrespect and not meaning to say it in an argumentative way, I know others work other ways, but with me thats the way I work. I do my bit, getting the photo and getting it right, and the rest can all be done by someone else with better skills and training in those areas.

Those other things are how you've chosen to manage, and market yourself as a business person, which is completely seperate from photography.

That's what he was referring to.
You've just elaborated on his point.

What's really hilarious is at the very end, after the movie is over. It says "If you can type, you can make movies." The irony there is fabulous!

Yes, just like anyone who can type can make movies. Somehow I don't see Paramount/FOX/Sony et al feeling threatened by xtranormal.
