I've had to replace a broken lens hood this weekend, that doesn't count as 'new gear' right??

Nope, that is maintenance!

I was pleased with the shots I got of a close up big ben, but the 12-24 Siggy lens I borrowed from Jay was a bit hit and miss in comparison (user uselessness I guess!) EDIT- just checked out the 365 project, I absolutely love Thursdays "red riding hoodless" shot, it's awesome! Thanks! My mom really liked that one too, she wants to print it off. I guess she's got some weird interior design going on that would suit a print of that shot IMG NOTICE: [NOT AN IMAGE URL, NOT RENDERED INLINE] http://www.evilkitchen.ca …MAGES-NOT-ALLOWED-12aee)- And I also posted these to my normal site as well. 2. Porkywill wrote in post #11747473 Morning all! Still looking at lenses. I've been looking at the 70-200 f/4 IS USM but is it worth looking at the 70-200 f/2.8 IS USM mark1? I know the mark2 is heavy and awesome as well as expensive. But 2.8 would be nice, is the mark1 worth looking at if you were to just compare it to the f/4 IS? Will The mark I version is heavy and awesome as well. Lots of folks here rate the f4 version higher, it just depends on if you need 2.8 or not? Looking back over the years, I suspect the f4 version would have fine (and it really is a LOT lighter) http://www.evilkitchen.ca
