It was a great sunrise this morning, made me wish I had a camera on me as it would've been an easy 'shot of the day' :)

Evening all. Stuck in another nothing business hotel, just above the "H" in the middle of nowhere. Right at the point where I was about to try and take my own life with a particularly sharp spreadsheet, a pussy cat walked in - through two sets of sliding doors. The bar staff all greeted him and eventually he worked his way across to me for a little stroke and some purring. Two hours before, I had condemned this hotel to my wife as "adequate but sterile" - now if feels like home. It never ceases to amaze me what a calming and civilising effect animals have on your environment :)

It's always lovely to wake up to a heart-warming comment like this :)

Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Happy b'day Jon!

Also, this on the BBC for the Chernobylites - http://www.bbc.co.uk …ence-environment-12335595 (external link) - would have loved to have gotten into the control room of Reactor 4.

Nice! I wonder what sort of hoops you'd have to jump through to get access there??

And what you'd have to do to decontaminate your cameras afterward? :)

actually, I'm mor concerned about the pacific islands (Fiji/Vanatu/Solomons etc) that are already under it. They usually get flattened with a Cat 1 cyclone, much less a Cat 5. I've got a cousin about to get hit in north Queensland but she's just on the edge of it.

I'd take a throw away P&S if it was me. No 11 shot NDR's in this enviroment I'm sure :)

Jeebus that's a big one. Looks like it could cover about half of Aus without too much trouble.

Nice! I viewed a flat last night that was right at the entrance to the Chelsea stadium. The ground floor of the building was the Chelsea merchandise shop ;)

(I'll tell the cats at home that you've deceived them!)

Happy Birthday Jonathan!!

Morning folks ... amazing satellite image as if they've not gone through enough already :(

Richmond fog is finally clearing but it's a grey old day out there sadly. Still ... it's "hump" day ... once through today, it's all downhill till the weekend!! :D
