Cool - how did the phone conversation go? Hope you got some help from them.

Sort of. They gave me a new number for Spark that I didn't have before and said it was their line for official complaints. It however, has been disconnected (no doubt through overuse :))

It has given me something new to try though, and when I next speak to them I'm going to ask for the number to their complaints department. We'll see how that goes.

After I file a complaint officially the ombudsman will look into it, but not until 8 weeks have passed. Hopefully if/when the creditors call I can use Robs trick and that will put an end to it, but I'm not optimistic...

FWIW I have on several occasions found that a well written email to the Chairman/CEO of a company is often a successful way to nip these frustrations in the bud... at the very least I would be asking to speak to a manager next time you call them! these sorts of wrongs do make me very cross

Oh good, at least you have got the correct advice and also that you have now gone to ofgem - when you make your complaint tell them that you have now involved ofgem and that might just put an end to it.

Good luck and hope you get them off your back soon.

twas indeed us. Good innit

really haven't got much done today - more cat training and that's about it. Just spotted the pheasant in the garden but by the time I got the right lens on my camera he'd buggered off again. I think I need to train him to come to a certain spot at a certain time every day

Well spent the afternoon at a wet Brands hatch watching the national endurance races. The weather couldn't decide whether to rain or not most of the time but ended up raining quite solidly at the end.

Steve nice pictures will have to see if I can drag the missus from her revision and come out for a few hours of trucks. Motorbike season for the Triumphs and BSB starts soon:D

Hello, just wanted to say hi and ask if I can join in?

I am relatively new to POTN, I mostly lurk and read lots and lots! POTN has vastly improved my photographs but I am still a noob and still have lots to learn.

This lot are very helpful and I have definitely learnt loads since finding this thread, not too sure I have improved though !!

Apologies for the totally non-photographic question, but I'm sort of at the end of my rope and don't know what to do. First a bit of back story.

When I moved into my flat in Oct of 2008 my electricity provider was switched by my estate agency to Spark Energy. I used them for about a year, but found their service to be terrible as I was constantly getting double billed and generally harassed about non-payment when I always paid on time.

I had some difficulty switching from them a year later in Oct of 2009 and continued to get bills from them for about 3 months after switching but eventually got it all sorted out.

Fast forward to about a month and a half ago and I receive a bill for approximately £600 from Spark as my 'final bill'. Due to the issues I had switching from them, I know I had paid my account up in full (which was a requirement from them before switching) and having spoken to them on countless occasions I'm positive I don't owe them anything.

Now comes the problem. I call them every time I hear from them (which is about every 2-3 days and comes in the form of a letter, email, text or automated phone call) and am ALWAYS told the same thing. 'The department you need to speak to is unavailable at the moment, but I can take your details and someone will call you back within 5 working days'.

I've been told this about a dozen times now and have never once received a call back. I try to force the issue and insist on speaking to someone but the best I can ever manage is the supervisor of the department that can't help me.

Now I've been told (despite several assurances that it wouldn't get to this stage) that my account has been passed to a collections agency. I haven't heard from them yet, but I have no doubt that I'll be getting calls/letters from them this week.

Is there some sort of govt office or utilities management board or something I can contact? I'm completely fed up but totally clueless about my options on how to take this further to get it resolved...

You aren't with ACORN are you. We were renting through them and just after we terminated the contract and rented the property privately they moved our suppliers over to SPARK, even to this day do not know how they can do it. We managed to get changed back quite quickly but it was still a bit of mess to get that done even though.

Lovely shot Matt - looks very spontaneous which i think is the hardest thing to achieve with set up shots!

I would try and pull back the highlights on the left hand post and the forehead of the girl playing the flute (?) if you can.
