The Guardian's Peter Preston on why the BBC should not show F1.

=]
Why on earth should your (and my) licence fee keep Bernie Ecclestone and, until recently, Max Mosley in the manner accustomed?" he wrote.

How, as the planet warms, do we justify flying tons of heavy metal from Rio to Kuala Lumpur in order, once a fortnight, to send them gas-guzzling and carbon-emitting round yet another ring of concrete?
The whole notion is a simple affront to anyone who even vaguely registers climate change. It's a suicide note we underwrite year after year. Let Bernie (and Lewis, in his Swiss tax exile) knock on somebody else's door.

It seems he has a problem with F1 in general.

Perhaps he's failed his driving test one too many times and is just venting his miserable anger. I bet he flies off on holiday and takes a dirty polluting bus to work.

I might have to do a review for POTN of this S&F gear. Lowepro don't seem to realise that normal people have hoods on their lenses.

You mean the tightness of the lenscases? I had that issue which is why I have a mix of Tamrac and Lowepro. Hunting down the right length and girth to fit my lenses.

That guy there has some real deep seated issues.

...

The ads all show a 70-200 2.8 in the case and it fits lovely, but minus the hood and tripod mount, which everyone has, and then it doesn't fit at all. Very disappointing.

I got a large and small lens case, a lens exchange, a utility bag and a filter pouch. Very comfortable to wear I give it that.

I have a 60cm softbox and find it really good. Wouldn't attempt full body shots with it though - more suited to portraits.

Today's 9 week old baby (I thought he was 11 wks already :o ) was a good boy - he's v chilled.

I have a pano shot to drop into London next week, so if its the end of the week I'll be up for this too!

Speaking of which is anyone around for a shoot in London on Friday evening next week (25th?). Wife is out for the evening so might head into London for the night for some photos.

Speaking of new gear, what do people use for OCF? I've spotted this from WEX (external link) but not sure if I need the umbrella and would be better off buying the stand and softbox.

Are you talking stands & umbrella's etc.. Or triggers, flashes the whole kit!

I have a 24" softbox (brought from FITP on Talk Photography, its awesome, Rob has the same too and Victor has something similar), 36" shoot through brolly (I think its 36") 2x 430ex's, RF-602 triggers and some cheap Amazon light stands!
