The data plans look very different but Vodafone seems to be to be the best, excluding 3 which apparently is terrible around here, especially given O2's lousy coverage around here and Vodafone's good coverage.

I have mine on a Vodafone contract through work but when I bought one for SWMBO, I went for the 3 PAYG option. Their 3G network coverage is better in our area and it seems to work better when travelling/moving (a colleague who worked for them muttered something about their "tower to tower" handover being better). It thing it cost something like £25 for 3 months inc 15Gb.

Hmm, 3 is good all the way down there but I don't hear good things about up here, well I didn't many moons ago. One thing I do like is being able to turn it off and on through the iPad and no calling them up which would be nightmareish.

Oh - and morning all :) Anyone got anything planned today?

Yesterday started at 6am and finished at 11.00pm so today I'm going to work from home. I've got an MRI scan at 1.30pm today which given my tendancy towards claustrophobia will probably mean a few stiff ones in the local pub before I go in ;)

Yes, I'd seen I could do that on mine and had pressumed it was a function of the iPad not something unique to Vodafone. Having just looked at Cindy's, it is indeed different.

The most important thing to consider is where you will use 3G. Reception at home is the least important as there you have wifi, but as it usually takes a crowbar to get you out of RTW, local reception is a huge factor in your choice, so if Vodafone have the best signal then go with them.

Indeed.... just the fact that I'm beginning to feel there's no point taking any leave, since it leads to an even ****tier day when you get back

hehe...it's the only crappy thing about my deal to relocate to London. "You'll be the only IT person in that office, so you get to answer stupid questions about Word and fix printers." "Oh, and you also overlap with our HK office and we don't, so you get to support them too".

That last bit wasn't mentioned till I got here ;)
