You are on the list already Lawrence, don't worry!

It's gone a bit quiet, but I have potentially a whole year full of 4 wheeled motorsport events! and not just minor events, things like BTCC, Porsche cup, and more...

Thanks :D :D

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

With the post about secondhand kit ~ did soem window shopping whilst out doing the chores.

Saw a 1DMkIII for £1599 lookede cosmetically very nice especially compared to a 1DmkIIN for £799 which looked very well used!

Also a 400mm f5.6 L for £999 also looked very nice condition!

No idea whther those £££'s are 'right' but the 400mm looks very tempting..........???

Hey fellas, bit slow in here today...............just back from second shooting a wedding with Matt.......hopefully got some good shots...........nightmare place to light.......it was a Tudor Barn very high roof no ceiling and loads of wood......only one window in the place, flash bouncing a nightmare. Luckily the sun came out so all the formal stuff was done outside with the softbox.

Matt, will hopefully be on his way home by now as he was staying till the first dance, great couple really easy going, will get some shots processed shortly

How did it go? Any upsets? Any pointers? Any changes you would have made? Matt feel free to reply when you get back in and recover!

Hi Lawrence,
Just thought if your thinking of new toys that Kerso sells the 400 5.6 for £899 new, also they go on eBay for about 725ish Mark, also £1599 for a 1d3 is about 300 to expensive for a good one

Ah! more aspirational for now though I have primed SWMBO last year that I wish to but the 100-400mm as I have hired one approx 4 times and told her how much it has cost so far (approx £250 if I remember rightly???) so buying my own makes sense ;) As for a new body......welll that will always be on the agenda but heaven knows when??? Edit ~ though I have no idea why my 40D & 70-100mm IS combo failed to focus at Cottesmore in December last year........was b****y cold but AFAIK this should not have caused the problem???

Been so busy not had much chance to look in.

Liking the idea of a Folkestone meet on the 22nd, nice and local, do we have a where and when for meeting?

Morning all - anyone up to anything fun today?

Working the night shift keeping the internets running.

Quite frightening to be wandering round and find a cable lying loose with one of these connectors on the end today, we've been having power upgrades...

I'm interested Rich, though my longest lens is the 70-200f4 so may be not the right equipment for the job. If you are interested PM me some future dates you have gaps for I can see what fits round my shift schedule.

Hello mate, how's things with the new little'un?

Hopefully someone will chime in with some updated details for the Folkestone Meet, but keep an eye on the first post of the thread if you can't keep up as I'll put it there as soon as I find out.

Going ok, the ususal settling in with a baby, well the getting it to understand the concept of having to eat etc. Downside of changing jobs so close to the birth though is no paternity and having to use my annual leave. Also had to work last night and tonight as there was no chance for the leave. Could be worse, at least I was home for the birth.

Hopefully I'll get the chance to rig up for some nice newborn shots next week.

Glad things are going ok Hayden, balancing work and family life at this time is difficult.
With many years as a contractor I had similar challenges when my youngest was born.

I've been putting in some work on my website, and at last got WAMP working on my PC again.
If anyone hasn't heard of WAMP it's great for building your own site.
It allows you to have PHP/Apache/SQL running on your own PC so you can modify a copy of your site locally on your PC, immediately seeing any changes made and then only uploading to your live server once you are completely happy with it.

Oh if anyone is making 2010 yearbooks, or was thinking of it, Photobox have extended their Photobook offer of 2 for 1 until 13 Jan
