Grids for small Ezybox softboxes?

I have the small (38cm/16 inch) Lastolite Ezybox Hotshoe softbox which I like to use for head and shoulders portraits or when shooting in remote locations; I was thinking that as it's really just a dish with a diffuser I could press it into service as a rim light if I lost the diffuser cloth and could find a grid to fit it...

So, does anyone make suitable grids for this purpose or am I going to have to DIY one?
(I don't WANT to spend money on a grid, but I am not at all gifted in the DIY department...)

Cheers,
Nick.

Maybe ask one the eBay sellers for grid alone. You can also try Edward from cheetah stand. He only sells grid with his 24" model but maybe those can be cut down to fit smaller size.

Hmmm, yeah... I'll have a think about some ebay mod sellers, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a manufacturer of 'standalone' grids.
Buying one and then cutting it down would definitely be the worst of both worlds for me. (see my post!)

Cheers,
Nick.

LightTools sells standalone grids...very high quality and they own the patent in the US. And as you can imaging...very $$$ :-(

But do they make one for Ezybox, I doubt it. For the price I will just buy a new softbox with grids.

Yeah, I saw their website the other day, just after I'd posted this question.
I really like the look of their kit (as reviewed elsewhere in this forum; their DO grid looks superb) but they don't do a grid for the Ezyboxes, and even if they did I doubt I could justify the cost.
I was thinking of buying a Rotalux 70cm with hood and grid, so checked out their version: It's not often that the Elinchrom branded gear is cheaper than 3rd party accessories, is it?
At between £191 and £288 for the Light Tools, depending on the frame and grid combo, it makes the official importer price of £116 for the Eli grid+hooded diffuser seem very reasonable!

So, I think I'll be whiling away the long winter's nights DIYing my own grids for Ezyboxes. I'll post pics and results when I've got some to show...

I just had great results having a grid made for the Elinchrom 27" beauty dish. I contacted Nick from HoneyGrids at: http://www.honeycombgrids.com/ (external link) Another forum member recomended them & I had great results. According to their website they make all kinds of custom grids.

But I don't think Nick makes the fabric grid because of LightTools patent.

You can just as well buy the Cheetah softbox with grid or the one sold by oeccamera on ebay.
