I have recently started having focus problems with my 28-135mm lens? The issue is I have to continually hit the trigger button until the lens finally gets a focus. Basically with each hit of the trigger the focus gets close and close until it finally gets the image in focus. I have two other lenses and the AF works fine.

The strange things is, this start to happen only after using the lens for about 20 to 30 shots. Before that that the lens works perfect. To me it sounds like the USM motor might be going bad on me. Anyone else have this issue before and if so how much did it cost to fix? Thanks for your help in advance.

Hate to say it but I'd move on. My copy gave me similar issues & since it was a kit lens I wasn't expecting much. Sell it or scrap it

Is it a used lens?

If it is out of warranty it might not even be worth fixing. For what it could cost to fix it, you could probably pick up another 28-135mm used.
