I am about to mount my A4 prints between foam coreboard and some plain black 12 x 16 mats for a portfolio.

As I need to do 20 to 30 of them, this gets expensive every time you want to make a fresh portfolio to pitch to another potential customer.

Is there a way to mount these nicely, yet make them removable so you can re-use the mats and coreboard?

Baz.

If your image does not take up all of the paper it is printed on and you have a white border I would suggest that you use photo corners and a hinged mat board. If the border is small, some photo corners like these have a cut out so they are less likely to obscure the photograph being matted and mounted: Full View Photo Corners (external link)

If your images are borderless you might consider using hinging tape that is water activated so that the hinging tape and the adhesive can be removed with water: Gummed Linen Hinging Tape (external link)

Bainbridge makes ArtCare Restore foam board that is reversible but it requires the heat of dry mount press for mounting and removing.

My company has information about various photo mounting techniques for framing here: picture mounting methods (external link)
