Just out of interest what brand of flash units are you using with your RC-7's, I suspect they might have issues with non Canon speedlites.

I'm using the 580ex II and the 430ex II with no problems, with the locking mechanism on the flash I've never had any connection problems with the RX. I'm wondering if there are connection problems with third party flash units.

My flashes are the YN460-II's and the Quantaray QDC 900WA.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.

Did you have problems with both flash units and the triggers ?

Yes.
I know the flashes are working, I've used them either connected or with an optical slave since then.
The receiver was also not working when used as a trigger to the camera.

when you had the flash triggers working the first time, which flash did you use them with, the 270ex or the vivitar ? I'm trying to establish if the problem was with the Vivitar flash?

I think I used the 270 ex first then tried with the Vivitar. But frankly i'm not really sure.

I have the same problem with my mk rc7 set
I have a nissin d866

I ordered a set few month ago
It was working great, I was shooting with flash off camera (strobist)
I droped the trigger (my bad) and broked it.
I ordered the same, a new one on linkdelight.
3 weeks after I was happy to received the package, but it was not working at all
I tried all possibilities
I did a video where i show the problem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ji8LzaraMqs (external link)
Then I send the set back to china.
They send me a new set this week and... It's still not working !!

Are you using fresh new batteries, I notice these triggers run down the batteries even when they are turned off. Also the batteries that come with the triggers are junk.

Also have you tested if they work as wireless shutter releases ?
