I was back at lock and dam 4 (Alma, WI). The eagles were staying further away today as there is a lot more open water then a few days ago. I was watching the smaller eagle fending off crows on the ice when I saw the large one coming in for a landing. Even from over 1/4 mile away it was obvious he was going too fast. There was some contact and then they stayed several feet apart for several minutes. After I got home and looked at what I had shot I found that these two made me smile. He has that "half in the bag" look.
