Which printer for my PC?

I have an epson 950 but it has suddenly stopped printing black so I think I need a new printer

Any recommendations? I'd like print occasional photos, but mainly just a regular printer used irregularly. I'd like one which is relatively cheap to run on ink.

Are cheap colour laser printers an alternative? Are they cheaper to run?

I see similar questions in previous threads, but didn't notice any recent ones and these things change so quickly I think it's worth a new thread.

There are so many printers out there that virtually any of them will do for what you have described. It doesn't sound like you do alot of printing, of any sort so I would think that putting in a laser printer would not make sense as they are proportionately much more than an ink jet. I have traditionally stuck with Canon printers and used Ilford papers as Ilford has always had a profile for the printer that I had. As far as an exact model number I can't make a recommendation as I am still using my Pixma iP8500 which after several years still gives great image and text printing. They come out fast and furious so I would simply check the stats of them to see which one would meet your needs.
