I took the pic of this beautiful hawk yesterday while traveling on the 27-mile long Loop Road in the Big Cypress National Preserve. For some reason, I always have a problem identifying the difference between Red-Tailed and Red-Shouldered Hawks. Any help identifying this one would be greatly appreciated. At the same time, though, please educate me and tell me what the distinguishing factor is that I need to look for.
Thank you and enjoy!
