I think I know the answer to this, but just wanted to hear it from people who know better. I took this neat panoramic photo at a KC royals game recently and (to me) it looks like something that would be sold at a sports memoribilia store. i'm sure, though, that there are restrictions on selling images taken during professional sporting events. i'm guessing i would have to ask permission of either the royals or major league baseball to sell the image. anyone have any experience with this sort of thing and how difficult is it?

It may be a nice shot but, for the trouble of getting it licensed by MLB and the Royals, it may hardly be worth it. If you were credentialed they would come after you with all they have. As a fan in the stands you would get a cease & desist letter, and you better do it.

I am not sure what licensing agreements are with MLB but, the IRL starts at $5000 and NASCAR starts at $10,000 for the first $100,000 in sales. Each then drops down to a fixed percentage of sales over 100K somewhere around 3%.

My suggestion, print one up for yourself and hang it on your wall.

On shooting sports...If you see it happen then you didn't get it.

yeah i wouldn't want to muck around with big league lawyers. it'll most likely something i'll give as a gift to a few people i know. just for the heck of it, here it is. the clouds rolling in the background make the image for me personally. i'm a red sox fan living in missouri now, so the game didn't go my way this time.

great image, but clone out and retouch the bootom right side with the guys head. With a little cloning, Healing, cutting, and pasting in a few layers you will never be able to tell the difference
