Macro DSLR Speed Challenge #103
Paper

Your challenge this week is to show us a macro relating to paper. I think that this time of year paper in some form is in abundant supply whether it's wrapping paper, shredded bills as we clean out files, or handing over money to pay some of those bills. I'll leave the interpretation fairly loose as long as your photo shows something made of, written/printed on, or relating to paper!

Challenge #103 begins when posted, and ends Thursday at 8:00 PM Eastern, December 30th, 2010.

Standard Rules apply:
Photo Submissions:

1. Camera - Any Canon DSLR camera
2. Lens - Any lens, or attachment that can give Macro photos (ex. extension tubes, bellows, macro filters, reverse mounted lens and of course a true macro lens.).
3. Time - any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
4. Size - Please see the Image Posting Rules.
5. Post-Processing - do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
6. Posting -
* ONE Macro submission per photographer in each challenge.
* Photo Name/Title in the message.
* Camera model & lens used in the message.
* Post brief Exif data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used in the message.
* Notes - anything you feel you need to explain.
7. Commenting - No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
8. Questions - Use PM
9. Have FUN!

One challenge every week, on the following schedule:

* New Topic - After winner is declared.
* Posting Starts - Right after topic is announced.
* Posting Ends - 8pm Eastern time, Thursday December 30th, 2010 . Winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
* Winner from this competition decides the theme of the next one (and judges it for a winner) after this competition is closed.

Well, I guess you win, John. :-) Either folks were just too busy this week, or the theme was just a little too unusual. Oh well... Bring us into 2011 John!

Still, and excellent capture John! Sorry Lisa, I did not have any archived macro paper shots...

Wow! I won even with all this fierce competition!!
Damm.... I'm good

Well back to reality, this sucks.... :(
Because of this (and for a new year change) I am going to change rule #1
from 1. Camera - Any Canon DSLR camera
to 1. Camera - Any DSLR camera

Any negative or positive thoughts about this change share here or PM me ;)

Change can be good, so we'll see how it goes with the new any DSLR camera rule. Maybe some more folks will participate. I liked the rainbow effect with your shot too, John. Nice idea!

Monty, even though the challenge has ended, go ahead & post something if you get a chance to shoot it. I'd still like to see what folks might come up with. Pop a few New Year's Eve party favors early. :-)

BTW, I'm renting the 100mm L macro for a week. It should arrive today. :) I'll let you know if I notice a difference between it and my older non-L 100mm macro.
