yeah, it's one of those countries that is either developed or third world. a lot of people live off the land, so to speak. they have straw and mud houses in the desert with only horses for travel. they eat what they have. but there's also investment bankers in buenos aires driving beamers.

it's definitely an interesting place.

we have both here too... but we are considered 3rd world :(

and we usually eat pork, chicken, goat, beef... some do eat buffalo and horse meat, but they can;'t be found in the local markets. there are some province here that eat insects and bats too. I personally have not eaten them though.

but I think south American and the Philippines owe our cuisine to the Spanish/Portuguese conquerors :lol:

yeah! we went to a hot springs up in the andes too. it was incredible.

they had a natural steam room there. you had to walk down a path into the mountain. i sat inside there under the warm waterfall for like 2 hours. it was the most relaxing, incredible feeling ever. nothing could ever beat that.

i have a few pics somewhere. i'll see if i can dig them up. i had an old p&s that was filled with sand while we were in the desert. they'll be awful pics lol

that waterfall in the mountain is an experience i'll never forget. it was as close to heaven as i'll ever get while still being alive :p
