There's also ouput sharpening that you'll see as on option in the Export dialog. It sharpens depening on the final output image size.

Does it automatically sharpen in the output or does it give you more options?

It gives you simple and limited options: A. For screen, glossy or matte print. B. Low, Standard or High.

Thanks bud, but looks like your a little late to the party. I have already been editing photos in lightroom for several hours since this thread was posted. Just a tip you might wanna read a little more into the thread before you come and tell me to get my own photos.

But he wrote that the first time at the beginning of the thread, minutes after your first post. And he was right.

Oh i didn't see that post i guess i missed it from him. But i agree, I should take my own photos to edit but i literally just started messing around with RAW pictures and actually don't have any of my own right now. I would go shoot right now but its early in the morning and I'm in bed. The only reason i wanted some RAW's right then was because i wanted to experiment in LR. I apologize for calling you out, but at the same time try to understand the situation before telling me to "get my own photos." I'm fully capable of taking pictures to edit...i just didn't have RAWs right then to play with.

What you and many others need to understand is, unless you are some kind of prodigy, it takes much more than a few hours to become proficient with an application like LR and photo editing in general. Most of us who are "comfortable" with the basics have been working at it for years.

Just keep shooting and experimenting with different adjustments. Search for tutorials and use them to revisit your raw files, starting from scratch. And try to get focused when you ask help questions.

BTW... You've got a strong array of software between PSE, LR, and DPP. My only recommendation would be to upgrade your PSE 7 to PSE 9.

Dirty Murd,

Lightroom is a pretty easy app to start "playing with", but at the same time requires learnin' to actually get things done with. You want to take your time and do some reading and go through some tutorials to get up to speed. I would suggest that you delve into some online tutorials -- Kelby Training, LightroomKillerTips and Adobe Lightroom Tutorials are good places to look for some basic training. A forum like this is good for specific questions but we can't get you started except in a very general way -- like, walk through the Develop module and see for yourself what things do.

But, reading up on the basics is something you really want to do -- for example, Lightroom Help is very good because it lets you know where everything is and what it does. It is, in fact, the "official users guide".

In addition there are three good books covering Lightroom and taking you beyond Help -- the three authors are Scott Kelby, Martin Evening and Victoria Bampton. Look them each up in Amazon.com and you will see their offerings -- they update for each version. It's pretty important to get at least one, and it can be good to get the others as well.

I already apologized for lashing out at you. Then i also tried to explain that under the circumstances of the time of day and the fact that i was laying in bed still...i just wanted to play around with LR and see what i could do..again, I'm fully capable of taking my own pictures but due to limitations i did not have any on hand.
