For DPP users who want to change the "Transfer to Photoshop" command by another software like GIMP or Elements, you can find a solution here :

Some people reported to me that the "Transfer to photoshop" command stayed grayed.
Well, the solution I indicated works only if the "Transfer to photoshop" command is already available. If it is not the case, then you have first to do the following actions to activate it and then do the actions indicated in the first post :

  1. Open the windows registery by using the "regedit" program (open a shell window and type regedit).
  2. Create the following branch : HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{6DECC242-87EF-11cf-86B4-444553540000}\ProgID
  3. When this branch is created, you will get inside ProgID the following variable (or something like that as I have the french version of Windows) :
    (by default) REG_SZ (undefined value)
  4. Double-clic on (by default) and enter the following value : Photoshop.Application.12.1

How to transfer to photoshop CS5 64?
Did success before I reinstalled Windows7. Now I have to both have PS 32 and PS 64 installed. If PS 64 is open, then DPP transfer to PS 64. If PS is closed, then DPP transfer to PS 32.

Is Photoshop actually installed in your Gimp program directory?

No, it is a copy of gimp-2.6.exe renamed to Photoshop.exe.
http://digitol.free.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22 (external link)

1. Open the folder where the GIMP executable file is installed (in my case it's C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\bin) and create a copy of the GIMP executable file (in my case it's "gimp-2.6.exe").
2. Rename the created copy to "Photoshop.exe".

Under WIndows 64 bits, regkeys of 32 bits applications are stored under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\

So try to perform the same operations but use
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\

instead of
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\

Let me know if it works as I haven't tried it yet.

Ah, OK, I had lost track of what was being done!

I'll have to set my daughter up to do this using elements!
