I'm in Orlando, and have seen canon over Nikon 3 to 1! Will be here for 7 days, and this is the fourth. Mainly seeing 500D but also 550D and 7D.
Canon seems to be really popular with all nationalities:
I thought it is interesting.

Their innovation and competition help to keep Canon current and vice versa. This is exactly it. There has to be a competitor.

Keeps prices reasonable, stimulates innovation, keeps the marketting departments almost honest ![]() Such a shame that most people probably don't recognise that. It's for the better, seeing a Noinky shooting beside you.

In fact I have not seen any beyond the national campaigns. Last year I was speaking to the photographer for the Sentinel and he has all Canon equipment. He was a Nikon user in the film days (not that it has completely gone away) but he went to Canon digital because they were far ahead of the competition. Look on the NFL sidelines and and you see the familiar white Canon glass. Canon started making major in-roads in the late 70s and they gave Nikon a run for their money. I switched to Canon about then with some solid advice from a salesman at Penn Camera in Washington DC. I have owned serveral new F1n cameras and about 20 FD lenses - 5 with red lines around them, but that is most gone now. I moved onto DSLRs because of the editing capability at home. I have found Canon to be a good reliable product and I have been happy with them - why change???? bcd01 - devices of enjoyment list

I'm not a hardcore Canon fanboy, but I'm almost allergic to the Sony Pellicle mirror thing. Feels so odd in the hand. And there's no optical viewfinder!

Dec 25, 2010 11:30 | #14 It is funny you brought it up; in the short time I've been here there has been this attitude, from people, about equipment and what they think is inferior. One would expect better treatment if we owned Nikon and posted on this forum. As it so happens we are all Canon users, but by the attitude, something else. _

Well just my two cents, but both Canon and Nikon reside in my home and have along with a few other brands. My wife loves Nikon, and I love her just the same. This just means I have twice as much kit to choose from if needed. Also, as S.A. Pearl so beautifully stated, it is the photographer behind the camera that makes the photos, not the camera. We should all remember this on this day a day of love and family. JIM
