What do you guys think? Just beginning to venture into portrait photography and trying to do the best what I can with a single flash/umbrella/stand. In these 2 shots, I have the umbrella on my left, level. A gold diffuser was added in order to diffuse the light even more. The distance is pretty close to the subject. About 3ft. They have a dark pink background wall too...:) It makes everything nice warm and toasty. I added a bit of glamor glow to soften the edge a bit. I also allowed the ambient light to fill in too in order to soften the shadows behind them.

too much red in the face. Not trying to be racist or anything, but I don't know your true skin color is so I just took some red out, If I had seen you I might have been able to do a little better.

Basically in photoshop pull up the hue and saturations and click the box that says master and go to reds. then pull the saturation slider down till you're happy.
Sometimes you have to 'lasso' the faces so that you don't pull the whole photos red down. this is what I did for yours. Notice I left your arm untouched so you can compare the face to the arm. If you want me to actually edit it I will :D

other than that, it's a lovely photo of your family! :D

Thanks. Not sure, on my end, he looks too ghostly pale now. I do think his face is a bit red. He does have a reder face. Let me tweak the red on his face a bit.
