Adding borders/watermarks to final picture. Help!

After I am done editing my picture in Lightroom, I want to put a basic black 1-2 inch border around with pictures along with a watermark in the border. Is there a way to do this with one click of a button (presets) instead of taking each individual picture into photoshop and putting the border on and then typing out the watermark and bringing the opacity down...thats a pain to do every time...

i believe the only way to put a frame around a picture in LR is by playing around with the vignette sliders. you can't achieve perfect lines. the corners will be curved. play around with, slide the thingy all the way to the left and right (sorry, i can't remember which direction to do it) and you will see what i mean. sorry can't help more.

oh sorry, i thought you were asking specifically about lightroom.

Have you tried reducing the image size to around 800 pixels on the long or tall side first, then writing a logo and framing the image?

I'm not asking how to make a border and how to make a watermark. I know how to do those things. I am asking how to do it in bulk. I have seen posts where people show 5-10 different pictures and they all have the same exact border that is perfectly the same in every image along with a watermark placed in the same spot on all the pics. I highly doubt they went and made the same border and watermark 10 different times while lining them all up to make sure they are the same size...

heres an example: Click on this thread and look at all the pics he posted. Same border and watermark.

I don't think that's possible in bulk... of course I could be wrong and would love to know a way to do that also...

Photoshop Action...

- Enlarge Canvas Size
- Add Watermark and Adjust Opacity
- Resize entire image to X by Y dimensions
- USM to taste
- Save in X format to Y Folder

I'm not entirely up to speed on how they work but you can make a "droplet" on which you can drop an entire folder of files and it will run the associated action on all of them.

When you say you know how to do it, I presume you mean how to do it in LR's Print module. So just go to the top of the left side panel where it says "Template Browser" and click on the + sign. Name your new preset template. When selected from the list the template will be applied to all selected images. Quick, easy batching is what LR is all about.

I'm not using Lightroom anymore as I am using a different RAW converter so I can't claim to know how to do it there. I do all of mine inside a photoshop action and have several different edge effects or borders that I can use. It takes some time to get them perfected but once you do your worries are over. I simply tag them in Bridge and then run Image Processor from there if I have more than a couple to do. The ones I have done will work on either portrait or landscape images. I hate having to do actions for both orientations. A sample --Here--

I've never used Elements 7 but I believe you will have a problem running batches of things like this through it. But, I'm no expert and can't say for sure.

One thing you can check out it the Lightroom Mogrify plug-in -- it is designed to do exactly what you need all through Lightroom.

But, alternatively, the LR Print mocule has frame and watermark capabilities and then you can use the Print to file option.
