So for catfish, it seems there are two choices above medium rare.

Wow! Great series, Scott.

Great series. That pumps me up for tommorrow, since I'm visiting our local reserve. Unfortunately, no GBH's there.

Great series of shots, but the last one with reflection in the water is outstanding.

Great series and a good read to go with it. The third one does it for me as I like clean backgrounds and action and that shot has both!

Excellent stuff Scott, as usual. Now all that worrying while you were sitting at work was for naught, right. Having a hard time picking a favorite they are all so good.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Man, that is a sweet series. I've never seen a GBH do a "Grab & Slam" before. If he had fried the catfish is beer batter, he would not have had to smack it around so much:)
Excellent "swallow" series too!

I enjoyed the narrative as much as the pictures, both are excellent. Your GBH seems to have an injury to his right wing just at the shoulder.

GBH OMIGAWD HOLY CRAP

Great series! I would have expected you to be a little more excited by it? ;) Maybe you should try animating that series?

1st rule of Nature photography: The lens you need is the one you didn't bring.
2nd: The fewer cards you bring the more shots you take.
3rd: The perfect shot requires the waders you left at home.
4th: The light was perfect... 5 minutes ago.
5th: ...etc.

Next time I'll try harder to convey the sense of excitement.

Since you're the 3rd or 4th person to say this, I must try to find a program that will make a movie out of these...

Funny you should mention that... I went out this morning hoping to meet him again. Except that I brought the 70-200 instead of the 100-400 (hey, they both fit the same case). And I forgot my second gig card at home.

"Luckily" for me he wasn't around to laugh at me for my continued mistakes in packing gear....

You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

You could make it into a huge animated GIF file using Image Ready. If you shot your burst at 5 fps, make each frame interval .2 sec. :)
