Holy cow! Great series. Yes, they really work over a catfish - if the catfish is able to keep its fin spines locked in the extended position, the bird can't swallow it.

Outstanding series, Scott, and a great story. It is a reminder to us all not to get exasperated with events beyond our control, as things usually work out for the best. Happens to me all the time. Well, you got some wonderful shots, particularly the reflections.

Wonderful series and narrative!
I was particularly impressed with the new Ninja technique you let out. I made note of them:

NinjaBirder wrote:

Grumble moan snort grrrr!
Grumble grumble. Nothing. Moan whine snort. Not even a goose! Grumble grumble moan whine snort grrr ARGH!
Whine whine whine....
Sneak sneak sneak slip crunch stupid rocks sneak sneak.
Grumble moan.... Forget it
(Yippee!)

:p :p :p :p

Seriously, great story and photos, thanks for taking the time to share them in such an amusing way.

I was missing your Ninjabirder series.;)

Cheers,
Jaime
