I've been printing from photoshop cs4 using the plug in from canon but im not really liking the printing options. Im trying to print maybe 2-4x6 prints on a sheet of 8x10 sized paper. or maybe something like a 5x7 and a few wallets on an 8x10 sized paper. does anyone know of a software that can do this? im opening a new studio next week and really want to be able to use 8x10 sheets of paper for stuff like that instead of ordering 5x7 and 4x6 sheets. Hope someone can help. thanks

Qimage is pretty much the best printing program out there, and it's only $35~90 to buy depending on version, but it's for windows only. I've been using it for a few years now and it's a massive time saver for certain jobs.

It can arrange, resize, crop, sharpen, color manage, and batch print images in any way you want, and do it efficiently so as not to crash the print spooler if you're printing like a 100-page batch or something. It also accepts any image format including RAW files.

Here's the website: http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/ (external link)

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

Is it not easier to just setup some templates of your own in Photoshop using guides to mark where the photos should lie and fit?

It's an optional plugin for CS5 (and CS4 too, I think)

I think the above link may be specific for CS5, I didnt try to install it on my CS4 setup, but I did find the following link, which seems specific for CS4 installs:

If you are looking for the CS4 instructions, there is a link to a Help page. The Help page is here:

http://www.adobe.com …wnload-install/index.html (external link)

There is likely a similar link on the CS5 download page.

Most go in the plugins folders the presets folders, but there should be instructions included in the download which will tell you exactly.

Since CS4 it's an optional Goody on your install disk. I agree with the recommendation for Qimage.
