I wouldn't mind purchasing stuff through Craigslist if it were cheaper items, but to carry around hundreds of dollars in cash usually to an unknown address doesn't really give me a sense of security.

Just to add, I'm relatively new to DSLR and I've only purchased through Amazon and Adorama. I did find Adorama to be a bit weird because they had to call me to confirm my order. The number they were calling from was only 3 digits instead of the normal (area code)-xxx-xxxx number.

Since local stores are much more expensive and don't carry pro Canon gear, I have to order on-line.

Do the transaction in public place and NOT a private residence.

I use a local fast food place to do the meet up.

B&H and Adorama (and Canons CLP). I prefer B&H's website when just looking but make the effort to check both for prices when ready to buy.

Not living in the US, I can't really get all my stuff via the internet. B&H does ship internationally, but it's not always cost effective.

I go to a local shop called Fotofile.
