Reflective dot on front lens

I was wondering if a small reflective dot like the image below will affect images. This is a lens I'm interested in buying used. The owner was pretty clear about the dot and said it didn't affect images. Just want to be safe.

That looks like a 70-200 f4L. I've got one too, along with a dot almost exactly like the one in the picture. It does not effect picture quality one tiny little itty bitty bit.

Dude, you can smack that thing with a hammer and the results will still be pretty okay. As long as the dirt doesn't hit the sensor it won't show up in your images except maybe as flaring.
