storage/workflow for edited images

Hello,

Wondering what people do or rather how they store or categorise their photos after editing.

I use LR mostly, sometimes PS and since switching from pc to mac have been trying to sort through my photos and organise in some relevance....seems to be far too many in different folders all over the place......

I do make a lot of different copies and sizes of the same photos though for different reasons and yet they still seem to be all over the place...

What do all the folk out there do with theirs?

Folder hierarchy:

Photo
^
RAW---------Misc. Jpgs---------Temp (emptied periodically)
^
Current Year
^
Month
^
Date + Description

All this is on the D partition of the internal and (except for Temp) two externals. Previous years are only on the externals. In five days the 2010 folder will be deleted from the internal and replaced by a virgin 2011 folder.
