There are other alternatives to these lenses, that are efs that will fit on ef bodies with great results, for example I use my canon EFS 10-22 on my MKIIN or MKII, 10D, etc.. its a fantastic alternative to buying the 16-35 if u have this lens already, as its very difficult to find WA for the MKII. other lenses which work are the EFS 18-55is or standard, EFS 55-250, again this is for those that have these lenses and want to use on both cams. here is a link for the simple mods which make them work.

Only Canon lenses use the EF-S design which prohibits mounting on a non EF-S body. Sigma, tokina, Tamron all have a regular EF mount and can be used on the EF bodies with only vignetting to worry about. I know a lot of people use the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 as a cheap wide f2.8 lens for FF and 1.3x crop.

except for the simple mods that can be taken you can use the efs lenses on ef bodies, i've used them quite extensively with very good results, again its only for those that already have these lenses and wish not to buy additional if they want the MKII or ef body. d/load the pdf file and see, the efs10-22 works as good as the 16-35 at half the cost and is wider than the 16-35 on the 1D series. I'm getting true 15mm on the MKIIN.

If you don't want to spend over 1500 bucks on a 16-35L II there are several alternatives some of them are better or wider or both like Sigma 12-24, Samyang 14 f2.8 or Nikon 14-24.

Being u have the full frame ur correct in perhaps looking at another lens choice as the 18-55 and the 10-22 would produce barrel distortion, as well as ving. My post was to educate those that have the efs's lenses they cud still use them on a 1DMKII or N or 10D etc.. without having to purchase additional lenses and use what they have. In my case it was not feasible. thanks

you should put a TC on there...i think it gets rid of the vignette, and it'll be like a 14mm UWA

Yeah I saw someone in here put it onto a Sigma 1.4x TC and it worked without vignette but I don't know if it is good enough. I mean how good is it on a FF compared to Samyang 14mm, 17-40L etc? Right now I am actually leaning towards the Nikon 14-24 though it's going to take awhile for me to save up for that due to other priorities like a macro lens :D
