So I got Lightroom 3.3 tonight and I've been fiddling around with it. I was using DPP for all my other photos. Which of these two pictures is more pleasing?

1st Photo is with DPP - I pretty much took down the saturation, added a bit of contrast and cropped.

2nd Photo is with Lightroom - On this one I just touched up the contrast a bit, played with the fill lights, blacks, etc. I also added a bit of vignette and played around with the settings.

awe your dog is adorable.

i prefer the second one. i would like it if the dof was a bit greater. just so both eyes were in focus.

otherwise, awesome.

Meow.

Yeah, I think this was taken at f/1.4. I bought a new 50mm 1.4 lens that night, wanted to see what it can do.

Even leaving it for a bit and looking at it now, I can see why people use PS and LR. It's like night and day.

It's my best friend's dog and he's so loveable but he looks a bit emo here. :)

#2 is better. If you can go back in with ps or something and lighten the white of the other eye I think it would help.

I prefer the first image. In the second image the left eye is nearly black, well on my screen it is. Nice dog :)

Number 2... the dog color looks preferable but the background seems too dark

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I was thinking #2 too and just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one that thought so. I'll keep in mind the dark background too.

I much prefer the first image. The second image has too much contrast between dark and light. It screams PP. Although I prefer the first one, I'd crop more on the left side of the image.

I prefer the first. The second one is too dark on my monitor. But then my monitor is not calibrated.
