So it is confirmed...I am a very very simple human being.....so please help!!!

I posted a few weeks ago about moving LR3 to a new mac from my pc.....which after a few hassles and not using enough parent folders I finally got it sorted....or so I thought.

Was just about to do some editing tonight and noticed in LR that my "blurb" smart collection was a whole lot smaller than it was on my pc. In fact about 300 photos smaller and then I realised none of my smart collections are on my mac at all....

So where did I go wrong? Is the easiest way to go back to my pc and export all the smart collections to folders then move them to my mac or is there a better way....

Thanks for any help....
Phil

I do belive that if you have the LR disk it knows when it spins up which system you have (or you have to tick the box) and away you go, if downloaded you pick which system you require..;)

OP......I would move the file over to your Mac, then re import them to your cat' and hopefully LR would read the settings of the files..:-)

So I tried again with just a single collection, exported as a catalogue which created a ircat file, moved that to my mac and imported it. Still though it didn't add the collection to LR.
Can you actually move a collection or smart collection from computer to computer?

crackennz, you just want to pick up your whole catalog from your pc and transfer that to your Mac and then double-click to open it. Don't worry about exporting and importing.

Ah, well, I didn't notice a lack there! Just did a quick download of both pdfs onto my laptop because they are just so handy to have close at hand!
