I'm trying not to get excited but it's tough since I have the money ready for the next full frame canon outside of the 1d line.

Ah! Totally forgot about them. Damm good series!

Can we get an update for Bushido Blade! One hit kills were awesome! Especially fighting in a bamboo field :)

Yes the graphics on the dreamcast beat the pants off anything on the ps1 during that time. Too bad no one supported that system :(

That was Segas fault...Sega just dropped the ball too much....

First was SoA making the 32X a console which was completely obselete the minute it launched, Then the Saturn "OH RIGHT WE'RE LAUNCHING IT TOMARROW INSTEAD OF WHEN WE SAID WE WERE GOING TO" debacle leaving the Saturn out there with pretty much nothing to play for a few months, and by the time some games started trickling out the Playstation was out...the Saturn was also extremely difficult to program for compared to the Playstations simpler architechture, meaning it was harder to use its power (and the Saturn wasnt that great with 3d calculations IIRC, the Playstation was superior)

Now note, the Saturn did a LOT better in Japan, but then Sega dumped support of it when they announced the Dreamcast and alienated a lot of the Saturn fans and ticked a lot of developers off on top of it....Also a lot of the games that did well on the Saturn in Japan (Dating sim type games) are games that simply wouldnt sell in the US or most of europe and be highly time consuming to actually release (Since they're a large ammount of text)

By the time the Dreamcast came out, most developers not so surprisingly said "eh.." to developing any big titles for it, since they felt it was destined to fail or destined to be abandoned by Sega....The Dreamcast was quite cool for its day, and had some really great games (I still own my Dreamcast, its in my closet sadly, Maybe ill dust it off one day and play it)

I had money ready for the 5DII, but I'm glad I passed and got the 7D instead. I'm still looking forward to the 5DIII or a 3D, but I don't have my hopes up. It'll happen eventually, just not anytime soon imo.

Totally agree! I skipped the Saturn. I knew it was going to fail and instead was the first person I knew to own a Playstation. My first game: the original warhawk followed by the first need for speed and the first twisted metal :)

I bought the dreamcast on 9-9-99 that system had everything to succeed but seta had effed over developers too much by that point. The system in my honest opinion was superioir to Playstation in everyday. It was also the first system to go online and have avatars. Damm good. I really liked it a lot :D

I'm seriously considering that as well. Let everyone panic and start selling those babies in the low 2k price range :D

Ask mayra. I told her I can't justify the 5D and it's rebel focus system. The 7D was the only way to go. FF wasn't worth dealing with focus and recompose.

Nothing says I like you like a Ken flamingg upper cut finisher. Oh and panda if your ever on street fighter 4 let me know. I own it on both ps3 and xbox. :)

Man... please tell me you guys don't dishonor fighting games by playing with regular controllers...

Marvel Vs Capcom drops on my birthday this year and we've got a full blown tournament setup at the office so everyone can dust off their fight sticks.

Panda begs to differ. He can't focus worth $&*% with anything else than the center point on the 7D, so center focus and recompose is his MO. He says it's the 7D's fault, I say user error.

Just teasing you, Panda. :p;)

Haha.. nobody can top Sony on their "what the f@#!%?!" hardware and complexity of writing crap for their consoles. I had the "pleasure" of working with the PS3 alpha kits way back and like every other Sony console I'd worked with we figured most developers would figure out its maximum potential just before Sony brought the next one out like what happened with the PS2. I still remember being in Santa Monica with a friend from Naughty Dog and hearing his story about their rendering SE poking at the PS3 and wondering why it had so many goddamn shader processing units and he just kinda threw animation calculations at it and it worked... at an insanely faster pace than the cell processor was handling the animation data. That my friends is Sony tech and it's not an easy nut to crack.

Samurai Shodown was always my game personally...

That was my favorite!!! They need to remake it. Bushido Blade too.
Right now I'm a Tekken and Street Fighter guy. Marvel vs Capcom 2 was fun, but I'm afraid 3 with no strider and psylocke means it's a hard sell to me.

Alex, I think if Vivian takes 5-10 mins to learn the mechanics, she'll be just as good as me in Soul Calibur. The game is based on good defense and knowing frames to exploit opponent vulnerability. I like Street Fighter because it's more like chess. Your placement by anticipating the next move greatly determines how much damage you're able to deal or receive. Tekken is more reading moves and countering with right move at the right time.

Soul Calibur- punish slow moves.
Street Fighter- thinking ahead and knowing your opponent's patterns (lots of brain/skill)
Tekken- eye and hand coordination heavy (lots of pure mechanical skill)

Back to Cameras... U guys think canon's new cameras are always incomplete? They're pulling a nintendo and apple. Release something that has one less feature people want and release it a year later. DS DS lite, DSi, DSXL, 3DS ~ all iphone(s) and ipad.

5D to 5Dmkii; video, same af. 5Dmkiii: to have 7d af
500D to 550D; 24p video, new sensor. 600D: to have vari screen
50D to 60D; vari screen and audio options.

Why you!!!... *uses bart simpson choke*

It's because the 7D doesn't excel in low light. I exclusively use center point after 4pm-8am, unless I use flash or i'm in the tanning bed.

Sweet Shawn! What system???

Man I haven't been on fight sticks since street fighter III! I need to get another pare the damn d pad on the ps3 sucks!!! I stand by this following statement: the xbox 360 controller is the best ever made. Best layout, trigger buttons, and a d-pad that is smooth for fighting games.

Shawn but isn't that the gimmick? So Sony can point and say look the processor is so good they keep getting more out of it! Rediculous

I never had any focus issues at all with my 5D2 all throughout China. It may not be a 1D series AF but neither is the 7D and the 5D locked just fine for every shot I snapped. I think people honestly blow focus way out of proportion and expect too much from their cameras... you think the old photojourno's turned to each other and went "damn that slow focusing system for me missing my shot!".

Fast AF is for sports shooters and papparazzi. The former because of their subject matter and the latter because they suck @$$ at photography.
