imo, the 550D is the perfect Rebel. I can't see the 600D being a worthy upgrade.
As for the 3/6D, I don't know about them...
5Dmkiii better be packing more than just the 7D AF. Maybe everything magic lantern can do.

I want a 5D really badly. I don't mind using the mkii since I'm used to center point all my life. Extra af wouldn't be a bad thing during those chaotic times when time matters.

Sweet Shawn! What system???

Xbox, PS3, Wii and PC all at the house :) You can't work in the games industry and not own all the consoles... I get made fun of when I don't keep up on my iPad games at the office...

vipergts831 wrote in post #11767285 (external link)
Shawn but isn't that the gimmick? So Sony can point and say look the processor is so good they keep getting more out of it! Rediculous

We like to think of it like some crazy puzzle... like the Sony engineers sat down and went "we are going to blow their minds with this! using SPU's for rendering.. no one will ever think to do that!" and then someone does and goes "what the f@#!?". The PS2 was probably more retarded because the two units for computation and graphics were separate pieces so you had to know two architectures to get the most out of it.

There used to be Canon gear here but it disappeared.

I never had any focus issues at all with my 5D2 all throughout China. It may not be a 1D series AF but neither is the 7D and the 5D locked just fine for every shot I snapped. I think people honestly blow focus way out of proportion and expect too much from their cameras... you think the old photojourno's turned to each other and went "damn that slow focusing system for me missing my shot!".

Fast AF is for sports shooters and papparazzi. The former because of their subject matter and the latter because they suck @$$ at photography.

I totally agree.

That was my favorite!!! They need to remake it. Bushido Blade too.
Right now I'm a Tekken and Street Fighter guy. Marvel vs Capcom 2 was fun, but I'm afraid 3 with no strider and psylocke means it's a hard sell to me.

Alex, I think if Vivian takes 5-10 mins to learn the mechanics, she'll be just as good as me in Soul Calibur. The game is based on good defense and knowing frames to exploit opponent vulnerability. I like Street Fighter because it's more like chess. Your placement by anticipating the next move greatly determines how much damage you're able to deal or receive. Tekken is more reading moves and countering with right move at the right time.

Soul Calibur- punish slow moves.
Street Fighter- thinking ahead and knowing your opponent's patterns (lots of brain/skill)
Tekken- eye and hand coordination heavy (lots of pure mechanical skill)

Back to Cameras... U guys think canon's new cameras are always incomplete? They're pulling a nintendo and apple. Release something that has one less feature people want and release it a year later. DS DS lite, DSi, DSXL, 3DS ~ all iphone(s) and ipad.

5D to 5Dmkii; video, same af. 5Dmkiii: to have 7d af
500D to 550D; 24p video, new sensor. 600D: to have vari screen
50D to 60D; vari screen and audio options.

I have the black one!

Why you!!!... *uses bart simpson choke*

It's because the 7D doesn't excel in low light. I exclusively use center point after 4pm-8am, unless I use flash or i'm in the tanning bed.

You nailed why I would destroy my friend in street fighter and he would beat me in tekken. However, the deepest fighter is virtua fighter. To me it's a combo of tekken and street fighter.

Camera evolution I give it to nikon they could care less about canabalizing the sales of an older higher level cam in thier lineup. You can tell it has scared canon because the 5DmkII chewed a big chunk out of the 1dsIII sales. It's no shock that's why it's taking so long for them to figure out WTF can we do with the 1ds series and next 5D series while avoiding canabalization. Yes I know they have thier markets but that is the big Selina in my opinion. Nikon doesn't care about and canon should follow suit in that aspect.

On the doing center and recompose on a 7D I just have no words :p

if Canon releases the 5D MKIII with 7D AF capabilities below $3000 on monday, I will sell my D700 and sell everything and switch back to Canon :D

I think the 5D MKIII + 16-35mm f/2.8 is a good combo :D

Nice!! Good to know we have multiple gamers. I went ps3 last year because im my opinion the thing was wayyyy over priced at launch. When it dropped to 299 I said now it's worth it (got rid of that damm card reader and backwards comp). Mayra beat me to the purchase first as a bday present :) Sony really needs to improve the online component of thier system. In plain terms: it sucks! Compared to xbox live. In xbox love it so simple to invite friends to join you in games to have group chats etc etc. On the ps3 it's like pulling teath. That whole thing is crap compared to how clean xbox live is.

I also own the 360 and mayra has the wii :) I've actually bought her all the games for it: Mario galaxy 2 and donkey kong country. She picked up the red wii with Mario bros.

All great games that have their fun factors. Virtua Fighter always frustrates me because I can't use a moveset I've learned on another character, thus limiting the characters I can play. I like variety.

Yes! Down with the 7D and make the 5Dmk7Dmobilebroadbanddualcamera phone.

In due time Steven in due time ;) I can't leave canon anymore. Mayra got me a lens for it and I'm not enough of a jerk to sell off a bday present :)

Fighting games aren't really my thing, so I'm fairly happy with how I do playing with you guys.

Do you actually use any point other than center in good light, though? I never see you do so.

So you're saying that you will move for sure after the D800 comes out? You're predicting the D800 to be a bust already? ;):p

You can come play on our side, Steven. Just don't eat all of our food, especially the pies. :)

Just got back from the gym. I kinda stopped my work out once Ashley Simpson's Pieces of Me came on, and my ipod was in my car. Going out!!! Oh let me add Omar to my psn.

I'll bring my 7D tonight, let's see the 19 af points in action!

Kenji,I think drinks should be allowed as food since they are also ingested.

And yes Amanda, I'm totally not a fan of Ashley Simpson.
